Gone fishing

What a turn around from last week.  Last Saturday the high was 47 but it felt much colder.  Today, 73.  Of course, wonderboy wanted to go fishing.  Last week, he sat by the lake and saw only one other person going out to fish.  Not a good fishing day, but he enjoyed the quiet.  When I picked him up, his hands were so cold they hurt when they were thawing out.

Today, when I pulled up, there were so many people heading toward the gate that it looked like opening day at Kings Dominion.  The only difference was that every other group of people brought a dog.  They fired up the grills and filled the pavillions.  Kids covered the playground toys like flies on cow poop.

The only ones who didn't think spring had sprung were the ducks.  Last week, there were 2, today 3.  I guess the rest are still South.  Do the ducks know something we don't.  Perhaps it is not spring at all. After all, it is just March and in March, the weather can be crazy.  Sixteen years ago on this coming Thursday, we had the "storm of the century" on the east coast.  I can remember the day because it is the day wonderboy was born.  My blizzard baby.   Now he's 3 months away from getting his driver's license.  Like Ferris Bueller said, "Life moves pretty fast.  If you don't stop and look around once in awhile, you could miss it."
